Asian Film Joint is a project launched in the spring of 2021 to continue and develop the relationship between Fukuoka and Asia through film. The project will hold screenings and forums utilizing film assets that Fukuoka has nurtured with Asia, such as networks with Asian filmmakers formed through the Focus on Asia Fukuoka International Film Festival and Asian films stored in the film archives. This festival’s second edition will feature 14 Asian films, including seven films screened for the first time in Japan, under the theme of time and culture that reside in our “something down here.” On October 22 and 26, there will be the premiere screening of “On the Zero Line,” an Iranian-Japanese-Singaporean co-production by Fukuoka-based director Yoshimasa Jimbo and others, created as a result of their encounter at the Asian Film Festival. The screening schedule is available on the official website.
