This market sees local Fukuoka craftspeople gather together to exhibit and sell their goods. Approximately 1,000 Japanese Summer-themed items are set to be featured. There will be a total of eight workshops taking place at the venue. Visitors can learn more about regional crafts (Hakata ningyo dolls, Kurume kasuri cloth, Koishiwara-yaki pottery, Agano-yaki pottery, Fukuoka kougei laminated glass, Okawa kumiko woodwork, Kakegawa woven textiles) that have been formally recognized as traditional crafts by Fukuoka prefecture and the national government. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to make coasters using kakegawa soft rush and Okawa kumiko or Agano ware teacups on a potter’s wheel. Make sure to check out the schedule on the market’s official website before you visit!
