This festival is part of the city’s initiative to attract visitors to Yoshizuka Shoutengai, a quaint shopping street with its own unique charm. One of the highlights is a striking statue of Buddha located inside the Midou. The festival curry stalls offer exclusive delicacies such as butter chicken curry, spicy chicken curry, dal curry, and more.
As a special feature of the event, Diwali celebrations will be held at the Asian Plaza, which is part of the Yoshizuka Shoutengai. The festivities will take place on Saturday, October 26th, and Sunday, October 27th, starting at 5 PM. All children attending will receive participation gifts, and women who come dressed in a saree will be presented with a special gift. The celebration will also include a range of fun activities such as a saree fashion parade, lemon-and-spoon race, musical chairs, rangoli painting competitions and more.
Participation is free.
Curry booths are also provided for free for all the 3 days.
