“Night at the Aquarium” takes place during the Golden Week holidays, with extended opening hours allowing visitors to enjoy the aquarium from evening into night.
From 18:00, special lighting creates a different atmosphere from the daytime, changing how the tanks and marine life appear. Night-only programs include a show featuring around 20,000 sardines swimming in sync with music and light, as well as a dolphin show set against the night view of Hakata Bay.
During the event, front-row seating for shows is available (paid, reservation required), and visitors can stay into the evening with a regular admission ticket. Visiting later in the day offers a chance to experience a different side of the aquarium.
