SLICE OF THE KNOT returns to THE KNOT FUKUOKA Tenjin on September 25, following its first outing in June. Held at the hotel’s ground-floor restaurant in Daimyo, the one-night event brings together wood-fired pizza, guest bartenders, art, and music from local DJs.
The venue is MORETHAN Café Restaurant Lounge, where a buffet of wood-fired pizza and Italian food will be served throughout the evening. Ingredients from around Kyushu feature prominently on the menu.
One of the highlights is MORETHAN’s Ubuyama Margherita, made with fresh mozzarella from UBUYAMA PLACE, a cheese workshop in Ubuyama Village, Aso, Kumamoto. The buffet will also include pasta, Italian dishes that go well with cocktails, and desserts.
Art has a more prominent place in this second edition. Fukuoka-based artist Aoi Shimon created the artwork for the event, and more of the artist’s work is expected to appear around the venue on the night.
The bar area will feature guest bartenders from three Fukuoka establishments: Bar Ruins, CoffeeBar REGGiE, and Bar Kakitaro. Each will prepare cocktails in their own style. Regular drinks will be available for ¥500, while cocktails from the guest bartenders will be priced separately.
Admission to the bar area itself is free, so visitors who are more interested in the cocktails than the buffet can simply stop in for a drink. The ¥3,000 admission fee includes the food buffet, with drinks charged separately.
DJs will provide music throughout the evening, and no reservation is required. Hotel guests and people visiting from around the city are welcome to drop in, whether for the full buffet or just a cocktail at the bar.
Built around the idea of a slice connecting people, the city, and different parts of its culture, SLICE OF THE KNOT is a casual Friday-night gathering in the heart of Daimyo.
