Brendan Sarsfield is an artist and art educator, originally from Liverpool in the UK, he is currently based in Tokyo. “Moments stay with us. When fully present, we embrace the moment. Moments echo in our minds, unexpectedly arriving to greet us like old friends. We cherish moments and re-visit them through memories, through photographs and through reminiscing with those who shared the moment with us. The artwork in this exhibition, represents moments; observed, experienced and encountered in the landscape. Like a moment, much of the work may seem ephemeral, marks made on paper, quickly captured. Representational and abstract side by side, each probing into the moment, visualizing a pause in time, an interval in both spatial and temporal realms. ”
