This annual event brings spice curry shops from across Kyushu to a shrine precinct, where 16 vendors—from established favorites to more distinctive newcomers—serve dishes that reflect their individual styles. Each shop offers a ¥500 mini curry, making it easy to sample and compare several flavors in one visit.
Alongside the curries, visitors can enjoy foods and drinks that pair well with spice, including spice sausages, craft cola, and gelato. A farmers’ vegetable market, an original spice-blending workshop, and live music are also part of the program.
The Torikai Hachimangu Vintage Clothing Festival is held at the same time, featuring carefully selected items from more than 10 vintage shop owners with stores both inside and outside the prefecture.
