Takatoyama Park, renowned as one of the premier hydrangea viewing locations in Fukuoka Prefecture, will be hosting the Wakamatsu Hydrangea Festival, showcasing over 74,300 blooming hydrangeas. This colorful event is planned to coincide with the peak blooming period, from late May to early June, featuring the “mountain hydrangea,” a species native to Japan’s mountainous regions and streams. The “western hydrangea” is expected to reach its prime in early June. To facilitate easy access for visitors, a complimentary shuttle bus service will be available on June 11th and 18th, running between Wakamatsu Watashiba, Wakamatsu Station, and the summit of Mt. Takatoyama.
Additionally, the “Fukuoka Now Hydrangea Viewing Guide 2023” is available to provide insights about other notable hydrangea viewing spots in the suburbs of Fukuoka.
