Take a closer look at nostalgic akari-e dioramas, which are created by lighting up charming miniature sculpted figures. This exhibition provides a showcase for Fukuoka-based sculptor Chiharu Irie and features yama nobose-themed work. The term yama nobose refers to people who are die-hard fans of Yamakasa, one of the biggest festivals in Fukuoka. This year’s Yamakasa has been postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus, but you can still enjoy the local’s love for the festival through this delightful exhibition.
