What a hot night!!! 612 guests – many clad in gorgeous yukata, cool aloha shirts and other summer fashion – packed out the sizzling venue of With the Style last Friday night (8/9) for Fukuoka Now’s Thai-style Poolside Summer Party. The first 150 received free orchid corsage – flown in from Bangkok via Thai Airways International that morning! As the sun set, lifeguards Pavel and Rolly helped guests enjoy dipping their feet in the pool, while many tasted the summer BBQ food menu (with Nasi Goreng, Thai-style Spring Rolls, Spicy Potato Fries, Thai-style fried noodles, BBQ meats and more) and Singha beer provided refreshment and a taste of Thailand. Cool summer Jazz DJ Hiraguri provided the beats and the mingling crowd poolside was treated to a spectacle, with professional performances by guitarist Nilton Pires (Brazil) and belly dancer Ahlam (Argentina) who got the crowd pumped and excited for the upcoming Isla de Salsa festival (8/24~25 @ Seaside Momochi).
At ten-thirty the indoor stage lit up with an exciting encore performance by bellydancer Ahlam, followed by the lucky draw. Two lucky draw runners-up were awarded tickets to Isla de Salsa, and the best dresser was given an overnight stay at With the Style. Finally the grand prize was drawn with one lucky lady – Kido Yuki – winning a return flight to Bangkok on Thai Airways International, including a two night stay for two at the Shangri la Hotel Bangkok inside a Deluxe River View room, incl. breakfast! Kido was handed the prize by Ms. Chonnakarn Akrapreedee, General Manager South Japan, Thai Airways International, and she couldn’t believe she had won!
