Today, (July 9, 2019) almost exactly five years since the Michelin Guide 2014 Fukuoka & Saga debuted, an updated edition was released with listings for Nagasaki Prefecture as well. In 2007 the first Japanese language Michelin guide made a splash by awarding Tokyo with more three-star accolades than Paris or New York! Since then over a dozen areas of Japan have appeared in a series of special edition Michelin Guides including one for Oita and Kumamoto that was released in 2018. Now the Fukuoka and Saga listings have been updated and for the first time 119 places in Nagasaki. Also new for this guide is a category for motsunabe (offal hot pot)! The guide is in Japanese only and goes on sale on July 13.
