Arao Race Track in Arao, Kumamoto Prefecture, will be closed at the end of the current fiscal year, it was learned. The facility had aggregate debt of 1.36 billion yen as of the end of FY 2010. It is the first race track in Kyushu to close since an Oita track went out of business in March 2001. After the Arao Race Track shuts its doors, the only course left in Kyushu will be the Saga Race Track in Tosu.
