The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport revised upward by 10% their estimate for the construction costs of three areas of the Nagasaki Shinkansen line where construction has not begun. The increase is due to additional anti-earthquake measures and higher materials costs. One of the conditions for construction is the investment effect, but this revision will make that hurdle harder to clear.
