Tokyo-based convenience store chain and JR Kyushu announced a business agreement in which all 115 of the am/pm convenience stores operated through franchise agreements with a JR Kyushu subsidiary will be transferred to Family Mart starting in July. Family Mart already has 1,019 stores in Kyushu, making it the second in the region behind 7-Eleven. They also announced that starting on the 7th, customers will be able to use the JR Kyushu Sugoca contactless payment card at all Family Mart outlets in Fukuoka Prefecture and some in Saga Prefecture.
