Fukuoka Prefecture launched a project to designate ‘Fukuoka Gibier Restaurants’ to promote local gibier cuisine. As of October 1, twenty-two shops have registered for the program, including fifteen in Fukuoka City and three in Itoshima. While approximately 30,000 wild boars and deers are captured in the region to mitigate agricultural damages, the consumption rate remains as low as 10% due to the financial and safety challenges. The program aims to widespread the gibier food culture and deepens people’s understanding of efforts to prevent wild animal damages. Source: NHK / Fukuoka Prefecture
