A survey conducted by Dentsu Kyushu of women in Kumamoto, Oita, and Kagoshima prefectures regarding their awareness of fashion has found that 82.4% have visited Fukuoka City to make fashion-related purchases. A breakdown of frequency of visits shows that 10.7% visit for purchases at least once a month, and 35.3% visit at least once a year. In addition, 47.3% said they plan to increase the frequency of their visits, and that percentage rose to 67% in Kagoshima. This engenders greater expectations for economic benefits from the full opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen.
