The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport lifted its suspension of Starflyer Airline freight flights between Kitakyushu Airport and Haneda resulting from the Fukuyama Transporting Co.’s failure to conduct proper safety inspections of packaged fireworks at its Fukuoka logistics center and allowing them to be shipped from Kitakyushu. The transport company submitted a false safety certificate to the airline. After confirming that amendments to the company’s operations manual covered the required procedures and a system to prevent recurrence of the problems was in place, the flights were allowed to resume.
