The launch of Nishi-Nippon Railroad’s nimoca contactless payment card has been successful. The cards were first issued a month ago, and since then about 74,000 cards have been put into circulation, reaching 37% of the target for the first year. The card can be used for payment on the group’s buses or trains, as well as for e-money in participating shops in the group’s commercial facilities.
