The Nishinippon Shimbun conducted a survey of the 10 Saga Prefecture mayors to determine their views on restarting the currently idled nuclear reactors at the Genkai plant. While Gov. Yasushi Furukawa has a positive view of restarting them sometime this month, five of the mayors think it is either too early or want to exercise greater caution. Only one, the mayor of Tosu, thought it was suitable to start the reactors as soon as the government guaranteed their safety.
