Japan Tightens Control on ‘Cannabis Gummies,’ Stronger Variants Emerge

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has designated the synthetic compound “HHCH” found in “cannabis gummies” as a controlled substance. Despite this, variants with similar compounds are already in circulation. In Kyushu, authorities conducted inspections in shops suspected of selling these gummies. A 10-day grace period before the ban takes effect has led to a surge in sales on social media. Users anticipate the emergence of even more potent substances like “HHCP,” intensifying concerns about these unregulated products. Source: The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare / TNC
