Japanet Holdings, parent company of J2 club V-Varen Nagasaki, announced on July 22 a capital and business alliance with Belgian first-division team Sint-Truiden (STVV). Japanet acquired 19.9% of STVV shares from DMM Group, becoming the second-largest shareholder. The deal aims to create synergy between European and J-League operations, supporting Japanese players’ transfers to Europe and boosting transfer fee revenue. Japanet plans to broadcast STVV matches on its BS10 channel and develop travel packages to attract fans and sponsors. CEO Akito Takata said the firm envisions full ownership of STVV in the future.
