The city of Kitakyushu has received an order worth about 30 million yen for its Water Bureau to plan and supervise the construction of a water purification plant in Cambodia. City officials signed an agreement with the Cambodian government in a ceremony in Phnom Penh last week. This is the second water purification-related contract that the city has signed with a foreign government. It is also the first time a local government in Japan has received an order to perform both the design work and supervise construction.
