Kyushu Electric Power released its business report for the year ended March 2010, which showed increased profits on declining revenue. Income from power sales slid 5.2% from the previous year to 1.4449 trillion yen, the first sales decline in four years. In contrast, however, current profit skyrocketed by 34.0% to 67.610 billion yen due to falling fuel prices. That was the first rise in current profit in five years. Net profit also rose 23.0% to 41.812 billion yen.
