Kyushu Electric Power will suffer its first losses in 32 years for the fiscal year ending March 2012, the Nishinippon Shimbun has reported. The utility has been hit by high fuel costs resulting from the increased use of thermal energy due to the suspension of their nuclear plant operations. If the nuclear plant is not restarted, there are concerns Kyushu Electric will have to raise rates.
