Kyushu Moviegoers Line up to See Akunin Debut


The movie Akunin, set in Kitakyushu, premiered on the 11th in Kyushu and Yamaguchi and Okinawa prefectures. The film generated a lot of pre-release publicity because the female lead Eri Fukatsu, an Oita native, won the best actress award for her role in the Montreal Film Festival this year. Satoshi Tsumabuki, playing opposite her in the male lead, is a native of Fukuoka, the script was written by Shuichi Yoshida, from Nagasaki, and filming was done on location in Fukuoka, Saga, and Nagasaki.
