A mega solar power plant has been built on the site of the former test track for maglev vehicles in Tsuno, Miyazaki Prefecture. The plant, operated by Miyazaki Solar Way, has a capacity of 1,000 kW and is expected to generate 1.20 million kW hours of electricity a year, enough to supply about 300 households. Miyazaki Prefecture intends to become a center for solar power generation, and has been working to attract power companies. This plant is the first to be completed as a result of their efforts.
