Mitsubishi Electric announced plans to expand its facilities in Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures to increase production of semiconductors for consumer electronics products that reduce power consumption. They plan to invest 10 billion yen in the project. The company also invested five billion yen to upgrade its production system last year, but demand is skyrocketing in China.
