Nippon Steel reported that production at its Yahata mill in Kitakyushu for FY 2010 rose 15.5% from the previous year to 4,401 million tons. It was the second consecutive annual increase in production, and the first time output exceeded four million tons since 2007. Exports accounted for 56% of their production, a five percentage-point rise, and the growth was centered on Southeast Asia.
