A survey by the Fukuoka branch of Teikoku Databank of the main banks used by regional companies shows that the Nishi-Nippon City Bank tops the list for the second year in a row. A total of 18,651 companies, or 12.1% of all the companies surveyed, use the bank as their main bank. Though the Bank of Fukuoka supplanted them in Fukuoka Prefecture, the Nishi-Nippon City Bank extended its dominance in the other prefectures of the region. The aggregate number of companies who use either bank as their main bank accounts for more than 70% of Fukuoka companies.
