Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu) announced the final decision on maintaining the local bus routes it had asked local governments last year for authorization to eliminate. As a result of negotiations with those governments, it will either completely or partially eliminate service on 23 routes. It also will maintain service on 16 routes, receiving subsidies from the local government to do so. Negotiations are ongoing for six other routes.
