Love FM, the radio station that broadcasts from Kitakyushu in several languages, is suffering financial problems and may be transferred to the broadcasting arm of Nishitetsu in Fukuoka City. Nishitetsu already operates Tenjin FM, with Chuo Ward of the city its primary broadcast area. Love FM has been suffering from declining ad revenue, and though it has been recently turning a profit, it still is saddled with aggregate debt dating back to its 1997 founding. It broadcasts in 10 languages to all of Fukuoka Prefecture and parts of Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, and Yamaguchi prefectures.
