Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. (Nishitetsu) announced its consolidated accounts for the term between April to June 2020. Accordingly, the company faces a deficit of ¥7.4 billion, as the impact of the novel coronavirus spread took away travel opportunities from local residents and in-bound tourists alike. The president and CEO, Sumio Kuratomi, stated at a press conference that the company would go into “business structural reform without sanctuary” to literally survive the amid-and-post coronavirus times. The company schedules to develop detailed plans by the end of the year. Sources: Nikkei / Sankei
