Nissan Motors and the city of Kitakyushu have signed an agreement to promote the spread of battery-operated automobiles and help create a low-carbon consumption society. Nissan has worked with local companies and universities to jointly develop such devices as battery rechargers that use solar and other forms of natural energy. For its part, the city plans to install battery rechargers for automobiles in 43 locations in the city by 2025.
