Fewer passengers are using the Kyushu Shinkansen at the new Omuta Station than was hoped, so the city of Omuta will conduct a questionnaire survey of 2,300 citizens and JR riders from the 12th to the 23rd. The intent is to discover why they aren’t using the Shinkansen, and to determine what they think should be done to improve the station. According to the city, it is the first time a local government on the Shinkansen line has conducted a survey of this sort.
