Police Seize Slithering Suspect in Fukuoka

On the evening of the 27th, a large snake believed to be a Nishiki snake was discovered in the entrance of a residence in Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City. Local police took the snake into custody, treating it as “lost property,” and are now searching for the owner, suspecting that it may have been a pet that escaped.  According to police reports, a call was received around 9:00 PM from a resident in Jonan Ward, who reported a Nishiki snake in their home’s entrance. Responding officers captured the large snake that was slowly slithering on the property. The captured snake, believed to be a Nishiki, measured approximately 1.2 meters in length and weighed around 800 grams. Police believe that it was likely an escaped pet and are currently seeking its original owner. Source: NHK
