Queen Beetle’ Continues Journey Despite Crack, Faces Regulatory Action

The Japanese government has issued an administrative action against JR Kyushu Jet Ferry, which operates the ‘Queen Beetle’, a high-speed vessel sailing between Fukuoka, Japan, and Busan, South Korea. In February, the company failed to carry out necessary inspections and continued operations despite discovering a crack that led to water leakage. Legally, an interim inspection is required when such leakage is confirmed. The company has been instructed to ensure safety, prevent recurrences, and provide safety training. JR Kyushu Jet Ferry has pledged to take these measures and comply fully with all regulations. Source: NHK
