An association for the promotion of Kyushu theme parks found that visitor totals increased in six of the 10 major regional facilities in FY 2009. This was attributed to the discount expressway tolls instituted during weekends, and the introduction of the so-called Silver Week stretch of consecutive holidays in September. The regional park with the highest number of visitors was the Aso Farmland in Kumamoto Prefecture, by a wide margin. Huis ten Bosch in Nagasaki Prefecture was in second place, despite a 24.6% reduction in customer totals.
