Ride the shinkansen (bullet train) to Kagoshima on the cheap! JR Kyushu announced a discount fare for the “Sakura” shinkansen, which services between JR Hakata Station~Kagoshima Chuo Station, in the upcoming months. From Oct. 26~Dec. 21 you can catch the Sakura for a discounted price of ¥15,000 round trip (usually ¥18,000). Bookings must be made 7 days in advance for the special fare.
