Sharp Drop in Kyushu Population

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications revealed the results of its census as of the end of March 2011, which shows that six of the seven Kyushu prefectures lost population from the previous year. The population rose only in Fukuoka Prefecture, and that was a rise of only 4,920 people, or 0.1%. The overall population of Kyushu fell by 31,115 to 13.23 million.
