Shiseido is expected to hire around 1,000 workers, most of whom will be local hires, for a new cosmetics plant it will open in Kurume City. The company plans to hire fresh technical school and university graduates as well as contract employees. The new workers will be hired in phases over the next two years in preparation for the plant opening in 2021. Production of the company’s Elixir lineup of products will be transferred to the new plant from other domestic plants in response to a rapid spike in demand primarily from China. The new plant is expected to produce 140 million units annually. Shiseido will invest between ¥40 and 50 billion to bring the new plant online. Source: fiba.jp
