Polyphony Digital, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, a manufacturer of game equipment for the home, announced they will begin operation of the Fukuoka Atorie, a game software development center, in Fukuoka City later this month. The company has produced and sold a total of 63 million units of game software in 149 countries and territories. They were interested in risk dispersion after the Tohoku earthquake, and thought Fukuoka City was an excellent combination of urban function and a pleasant living environment.
