The Kyushu Transport Bureau released its statistics for long-distance ferry travel to and from Kyushu in the first half of FY 2012. The number of passengers fell by 2.4% to 747,829, the 10th consecutive drop. They attributed this to the growing number of low-cost air carriers, and the decline in passengers from South Korea and China due to deteriorating bilateral relations. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun
