Tenjin Streets on High Alert for Halloween

In anticipation of the expected crowds and traffic congestion on Halloween, the Fukuoka Prefectural Police announced that they would be conducting extensive nighttime security measures in the central part of Fukuoka City. According to the police and other sources, the areas to be regulated include popular streets such as the so-called “Oyafuko Street” and “Kirameki Street”, primarily covering five streets in the Tenjin and Daimyo districts of Fukuoka City. The regulation targets modified vehicles, including motorcycles. When there’s a high volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, there’s a possibility of implementing traffic controls. The Fukuoka Prefectural Police plans to deploy as many as 200 officers, which is more than last year, to strengthen their security posture. Additionally, starting this year, they will be patrolling using helicopters. The extensive security measures for the Halloween period are scheduled from 6:00 pm on the 27th until the morning of the 1st of the following month. During this time, Kego Park will be closed off.
