Fukuoka Prefecture-based Toyota Motors Kyushu released its non-consolidated results for the fiscal year ended in March 2009 showing that the company lost money for the first time since the fiscal year that ended in June 1994, a period of 15 years. The net loss for the year totaled 6.734 billion yen. The company’s auto sales were only two-thirds those of the previous year, when a record high was set. This was attributed to poor sales in the North American market, the primary destination for the company’s exports.
