Fukuoka City-based Coca-Cola West Holdings held a ceremony marking the start of operations of their recycling facilities for discarded vending machines at a plant in Eco-Town in Kitakyushu. This is the first facility of its kind operated by a food industry company in Japan. They expect to dispose of 20,000 vending machines a year from three prefectures in northern Kyushu and five prefectures in the Chugoku region.
