Yahoo Japan announced it will enlarge its Asian Frontier data center in Kitakyushu starting this summer. The center already has about 40,000 Internet servers on the site. The company has been receiving a growing number of inquiries from Internet mail order companies and others in the Tokyo area about the possibility of using the Kitakyushu servers after the Tohoku earthquake. In response, they decided to accelerate their expansion program, which was slated for this autumn.
