November’s Issue of Fukuoka Now features two monster sporting events. Nov. 18~20, the America’s Cup World Series kicks off in Fukuoka, the first time an America’s Cup race has ever been staged in Asia. It’ll bring crowds from far and wide and the racing will be a spectacle never before seen on Fukuokan shores. Meanwhile, from Nov. 13 to 20, rikishi (sumo) from across Japan will roll into Fukuoka for the last grand tournament of the year: the Kyushu Basho. If you’re looking for fine dining, we’ve reviewed four delightful gourmet spots: Maison De Yoshida, Oimatsu, Hachibe and Au Bord d’Eau. Go to any of these for your fix of some of the best food Fukuoka has to offer. If you’re looking for a place to relax why not head to this month’s cafe: Ka-Ku. Here, great coffee is mixed with a boutique pen shop where you can work, relax, or make your own personalised ink. Our bar of the month is Wall, which features a giant vertical garden wall designed by French artist and botanist, Patrick Blanc. All this and much, much more in November’s issue of Fukuoka Now!
