Nestled in a tiny alley in Nakasu, Sebek is run by award-winning bartender Makiko Otsu. Her creativity abounds in the tourbillon, which features cognac, black tea and rose syrup, and won first prize at the Hennessy X.O Cocktail Competition in 2017. The flavor is captivating, as is the sight of Otsu making it! Also try the Jack Rose, her personal favorite, a brandy-based drink that uses fresh pomegranate. Otsu has been bartending for 19 years and strives to make drinks to suit her customers’ preferences. There is no menu; just tell her what you like, but best to go with a Japanese-speaking friend.
