Fukuoka Prefecture Acquires 10% Stake in Airport

On Feb. 18 Fukuoka Prefecture officially signed an agreement with Fukuoka International Airport Co., Ltd. to acquire 10% (¥3.5 billion) of the company’s stock. Governor Hiroshi Ogawa and Director and President & CEO Tetsuya Nagasao attended the ceremony and consented on a collaboration between the prefecture’s tourism and international sectors and the company in developing strategies. Ogawa said, “As a prefecture, we are willing to participate in the management of the airport and invite more international flights while collaborating effectively with Kitakyushu Airport.” Source: Fukuoka Prefecture, 2/18/2019
