Records of sixteen artworks that were created, exhibited, and performed by overseas artists in Kawabata Shotengai will be introduced. Since its opening in 1999, the Asian Art Museum has invited many creators from Asian countries to participate in workshops and exchange programs. Unique works were created during its third edition, including a street performance by a Malaysian artist, who pushed a silver shopping cart through Kawabata arcade while speaking Hakata-ben with Malaysian accents and a performance by a Singaporean artist, who invited people to sit at a table filled with moyashi bean sprout and chatted with them while removing skinny roots of the plant and more. (Sixteen exhibited works include records of performances by Amanda Heng, Noor Azizan Rahman Paiman, Chung Ling Jolene Mok, and other artists, movies, paintings, and more.)
